Dear Undergraduate Students

On behalf of the staff at Li Ka Shing Library, welcome or welcome back to SMU.

Over the last couple of months, we implemented new initiatives for our different user groups.  Below are some of the changes we have introduced for you and your classmates.

Library Services
Your Research Librarians created  “research navigators” , guides for topics at a school, subject  or course level. Contact libresearch@smu.edu.sg to suggest additional guides.

Check out the Library Training Calendar for upcoming training courses .  For individual or group help or to suggest additional courses, contact libresearch@smu.edu.sg.

Watch our   Library Video for a quick overview of our resources and service.

The U.S. Embassy presented the library a donation of 150 titles in American Literature.  The new U.S. Ambassador, David Adelman attended the formal presentation at the library. The donated titles are inter-shelved with the library’s LifeStyle Collection.

Library Facilities
Acting on your feedback, the area opposite Course Reserves at Level 2 is now designated a self-monitored Quiet Area

Campus Development installed additional electrical power points for us at the learning spaces at Levels 3 and 4.  PC Terminals on Level 3 have upgraded.

Library Events
Watch out for our upcoming Friday Buzz  on 3 September with Prof Margaret Chan (details to be provided soon).

We look forward to your using the Library resources and services and welcome your continued feedback and suggestions.  Email us at library@smu.edu.sg.
