Lifestyle@Li Ka Shing Library
The Li Ka Shing library at SMU continually seeks to promote the cultural, leisure and community aspects of life at SMU. Here is a brief description:
| Lifestyle Collection
Location: Level 2 (Collaborative Study Area) Title list: Latest title list This collection includes a selection of close to 3,000 leisure titles in fiction (contemporary, classic and regional), travel, food, hobbies, personal development and health and fitness. |
Audio-visual Collection
Location: Level 2 (Quiet Area)
Title list: Complete title list The Library has a small collection of audio-visual materials including DVDs of general interest. Titles include Hollywood movies as well as a smattering of films on regional interest. |
Literature and General Reading Collection
Location: Level 4 (Stacks)
The collection contains classics from literary giants including E.M. Forster, Daphne Du Maurier, Graham Greene, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Virginia Woolf, Shakespeare, and many others. |
| Friends of the Museum (FOM)
Location: Level 4 (Stack)
Title list: Complete title list The FOM refers to a collection composed largely of books that were donated to the library by the Friends of the Museum, and houses coffee table books and books on culture. The FOM titles are a part of stacks but are shelved together for easy browsing. |
Take One Leave One (TOLO)
The Take One Leave One (TOLO) is a recycling scheme run by the library.
The TOLO display table is located beside the elevators at level 2 of the library,
and contains a box in which to drop books that you wish to donate (i.e. leave one)
and several books on display from which you can take away one (take one).

We email the latest buzz update to your mailbox
The Friday Buzz events are targeted at the entire SMU community and consist of a talk or presentation by an invited expert. The talks are intended to be provocative, entertaining and educational all at the same time. In the past, we have had speakers such as Catherine Lim, T. Sasitharan, Steven Okun, Chua Soo Pong and Philip Cheah.
