Special Collection

 

Special Collection refers to print materials and other physical media items housed in a non-open-access area. Items in the Special Collection include:

• SMU publications
• SMU faculty publications
• SMU students’ dissertations / theses
• Rare materials
• Materials of unusually high monetary value
• Materials that are fragile or in a deteriorating physical condition

Request for use of item from the Special Collection is subjected to the following terms and conditions:

• the library has no circulating copy for that item
• item must be used at the Customer Service Centre within the library
• item may not be photocopied without permission
