Overview
Designed as a learning space for the SMU community, the Li Ka Shing Library offers a range of work spaces. Highlights include open areas for individual or collaborative use, such as the Collaborative Study Area, quiet individual carrels on level 4, book-able project rooms with LCD panels throughout the building and a 5th level reading room that doubles as an events space. The entry level features a café for study breaks, the collaborative study area and our course reserve collections and our lifestyle reading materials.
A library classroom for hands on training, a special space for postgraduate students, the Postgraduate Suite, and other faculty research services, such as Course Support Services, Centre for Teaching and Excellence (CTE) and research application from Integrated Information Technology Services are on the 5th level.
The entire building is wireless and designed for laptop use. There are also a limited number of dedicated computers, some with special use financial software.
