Integrated Research Information System (IRIS) - Beta Release

Integrated Research Information System (IRIS) - Beta Release

Imagine having the ability to import your publication records from online databases like Scopus or Web of Science and reducing your manual data entry. Or having a personalised dashboard to track your publications by type and year. Well, that dream is now a reality!

Welcome to the BETA release of the new Research Publications module which replaces the existing Research Publications System (RPS).

BACKGROUND

The new Research Publications module is part of the larger SMU Integrated Research Information System (IRIS) that will comprise other modules such as Grants Management, Institutional Review Board (IRB) Management, Faculty C.V., Reports and Analytics.

IRIS is based on the product CONVERIS which is an end-to-end research management system. CONVERIS is developed by Avedas, a German company, and now a part of Thomson Reuters. Institutions using CONVERIS include London School of Economics, University of Saskatchewan, European Molecular Biology Lab, University of Stirling, Leiden University Medical Centre and Stockholm University. Closer to home, local institutions implementing CONVERIS include the National Research Foundation (NRF), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Education (MOE) and, in Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong.
