The Li Ka Shing Library primarily serves the members of the Singapore Management University and focuses on providing SMU faculty, staff and students library services and access to information that support and enhance their research, teaching and learning activities.

Loan Services

Customer Service Centre (CSC) on Level 2 handles loan matters and also reservation, renewal, fine payment, and collection of items requested via Document Delivery Service & Inter-library Loan.

My Library Account allows library users to access their borrowing records online and to renew items borrowed online.

Information Services

Information Services primarily assist SMU students, faculty and staff in identifying and retrieving information in both electronic and print formats for their research, study and teaching purposes.

The service includes answering user enquiries, recommending the most appropriate resources to consult, providing guidance on the use of library resources and information tools, in particular the subscribed databases, and conducting searches for users.


Research Consultation
SMU students, faculty and staff who need assistance with database searching or customised help with their research projects may make an appointment with a librarian who specialises in your subject.


Instructional Services

The Instructional Services Team designs, develops and delivers training programmes for the SMU Community which includes students, faculty and staff. Comprising of professional staff with domain and subject knowledge, our instructional programmes equip students with lifelong learning skills during their academic journey and beyond SMU. The team constantly looks for learning solutions by embracing elearning and working with strategic vendors such as Bloomberg to train our students.

Course Support Service

Course Support Service works closely with teaching faculty to deliver course content (course pack and reading list) to students which includes obtaining the necessary copyright clearance from the relevant authorities. See services for faculty.
