Services to SMU Students
One of the core components of our services is centred on students enrolled at the SMU. The following outlines the library services for SMU students. Details on borrowing privileges are available at Loan Privileges.
For assistance with database searching or quick help with your research and projects, you may either
- Approach our librarians at the Information Services Centre located on level 3 of the library on weekdays (Mon to Fri) from 12:00pm - 6:00pm
- Submit your enquiries online via Ask The Library
- Email your questions to the library. For complex questions that cannot be answered with suggested sources and search strategies, an appointment with a librarian will be scheduled.

If you need research asssistance, you may schedule an appointment with a librarian who specialises in the subject field. Email your request and questions to the library or submit them via Ask The Library. The Research Consultation Room is located on level 3 in the library, next to the Information Services Centre.

Library Training and In-class Instruction for Students
The library offers a variety of training that ranges from database searching, evaluation of information sources to in-class instruction so as to enable you to become independent users of information resources and to be equipped with basic research skills. Please refer to the library training calendar for upcoming classes and email us if you have suggestions for courses that you would like us to consider conducting.
