PatentScope

WIPO's new portal on patents and the international patent system. The International Patent Applications Database provides access to published PCT international applications from 1978 to present, including access to selected documents. There are 128 contracting states as at 18 August 2005. Basic Search by terms; Advanced Search by terms and date; or Structured Search by terms in fields.


USA

USPTO Web Patent Database [Free]

From the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Full text of all US patents issued since January 1, 1976, and full-page images of each page of every US patent issued since 1790. Europe

esp@cenet: Europe's Network Of Patent Databases [Free]

From the European Patent Office (EPO), the executive arm of the inter-governmental body European Patent Organisation. Provides access to data on patents from 72 countries. Comprises three databases:

  • EP database - Patent applications published by the European Patent Office (EPO)
  • Worldwide database - Information about published patent applications from over 72 different countries and regions
  • WIPO database - Patent applications published by WIPO (WO publications) in the last 24 months. Earlier documents are found in the Worldwide database.

Search by individual European country or conduct a world-wide search across over 72 countries. Includes abstracts and facsimile documents.
